AUTHORS IN SCHOOLS | AMELIA ISLAND BOOK FESTIVAL

Each year the Amelia Island Book Festival hosts ‘Authors in Schools’ for 27 schools in Nassau County, Florida. They purchase books for each student K-12 in their county and arrange for authors to come and read their books. We were fortunate to read at Yulee Primary School to over 750 students, age 4 years through 2nd grade. Each child received a copy of DLIMH!2, our goody bag, and dinosaur coloring sheets. Heather and I presented twenty-one times over the period of four days and loved every minute of it!

Yulee Primary’s Librarian is Kelley McCabe. She was an amazing help organizing the groups, keeping order, and having the week run so smoothly. The students love her and it’s easy to see why. She’s awesome! We love her.

She wore dinosaurs in her hair all week. CHECK THEM OUT! She even had green tape around the reading circle which read, “Dinosaurs Living in My Hair!”
